Relive the Top 10 Plays of the 2026 UFL Regular Season

by Ethan Berch

ARLINGTON, TX – June 22, 2026 – In a season packed with jaw-dropping plays, these ten moments stood above the rest. From ridiculous one-handed catches to game-clinching defensive touchdowns, the 2026 UFL regular season delivered no shortage of unforgettable moments.

No. 10: Dual-Threat Plummer

The league MVP engineered a masterful season with the Orlando Storm and turned the ball over just once all season. However, many were unaware of the speed he possessed.

In Week Eight, Plummer and the Storm took on the Dallas Renegades at Fort Hood in the first ever professional football game played at a military base. In the third quarter of a tie game, Plummer kept the football on a read option and didn’t look back.

As Plummer hit the edge, he pressed on the gas pedal and went the distance, 71 yards for the go-ahead score. At the time, it marked the longest rushing play all season by a UFL player and Orlando never surrendered the lead.

No. 9: Major Hits Another Gear

In the best rushing performance by any team in UFL history, Marcus Major etched his name into the record books with the longest rush of the season.

In Houston’s Week Ten victory over Birmingham, the Gamblers rushed for a UFL-record 278 yards. In the third quarter, Major broke free and ripped off a 72-yard touchdown run. The breakaway score narrowly eclipsed Plummer’s Week Eight mark and finished as the longest rushing play of the season.

Major scored twice in the regular-season finale, a game that ultimately eliminated the Stallions from postseason contention.

No. 8: The OPOTY Goes the Distance

In a season filled with highlight-reel plays, Hakeem Butler displayed his speed and strength in Week Four, earning a spot on the top ten list.

Against their rivals on the road, the Battlehawks trailed early in the second quarter and struggled to find offensive rhythm. Offensive coordinator AJ Smith dialed up a screen for Butler and the rest was history.

Butler delivered a devastating stiff arm and hit the accelerator. The 6-foot-5 receiver outran the rest of DC’s defense and rattled off a 75-yard touchdown to give St. Louis the lead.

Butler averaged 22.1 yards per reception through nine games.

No. 7: Ta’amu Uncorks a Deep Strike

In Week Eight, Jordan Ta’amu connected with Javon Antonio for the longest play from scrimmage of the UFL season.

With the Defenders trailing in the second quarter and desperate for a spark, Ta’amu escaped a blitz and aired one out. Antonio sprinted underneath the football and there was no stopping him.

The ball traveled 50 yards through the air before Antonio did the rest, securing an 81-yard touchdown.

No. 6: Hudson’s House Call

The longest play of the season for Louisville also proved to be one of the defining moments of the Kings’ incredible turnaround.

In Week Eight, DC struck first and took a 7-0 lead just seconds into the game. Tyler Hudson had an answer on the ensuing kickoff. He never broke stride and weaved around defenders for a 93-yard kick return touchdown.

The return marked Louisville’s longest play of the season and embodied the mentality that fueled its second-half surge: answer every punch.

No. 5: Cole Skywalks for Pick

In Week Six, Qwynnterrio Cole made one of the great plays of the season, earning him the No. 5 spot. On second-and-goal, the Defenders attempted a trick play to get a tackle involved in the passing game, but Cole had other plans.

As Ta’amu floated the ball over the top, Cole climbed the imaginary ladder and ripped the football away with just one hand.

Cole, one of the league’s most instinctive defensive backs, saved his best play for Week Six.

No. 4: The One-Handed Wonder

On the topic of one-handed catches, somehow this year’s Sportsman of the Year Cornell Powell topped Cole’s clutch moment, and it came earlier in the very same game.

On third down, Ta’amu gave Powell a chance in the end zone. Powell was covered tightly, but a perfectly placed throw away from the defender allowed him to haul it in with one hand.

The catch immediately became one of the season’s defining highlights and remains one of the best receptions of Powell’s career.

No. 3: Blocked, Scooped, Scored

This play could have easily been ranked even higher. Steven Gilmore recorded one of the most impressive individual moments of the season in the biggest game of Birmingham’s year.

On a brutally hot day in Birmingham, the Stallions needed a victory to keep their season alive in a low-scoring battle. As Columbus lined up for a 55-yard field goal with under nine minutes remaining, Gilmore made the play of the year for the Stallions.

Gilmore came free off the edge and blocked the kick. He then tracked down the loose football, scooped it up, and followed a convoy into the end zone.

The sequence felt straight out of a video game and helped Birmingham secure a crucial Week Eight victory.

No. 2: Miller Delivers the Dagger

A week after heartbreak, the Aviators delivered a taste of their own medicine back to Birmingham with playoff hopes hanging in the balance.

In Week Nine, Columbus stormed back to tie the game in the fourth quarter with less than two minutes remaining. On Birmingham’s very next offensive snap, DJ Miller Jr. intercepted Dorian Thompson-Robinson.

Miller popped back to his feet untouched, evaded multiple tacklers, and waltzed into the end zone for a game-winning pick-six.

The Columbus faithful erupted in one of the most memorable moments of the season. The play also delivered a critical blow to Birmingham’s postseason hopes.

No. 1: Chism’s Catch of the Year

The one you’ve been waiting for: No. 1. And this was an easy selection because of how simply ridiculous the catch was.

As the first half wound down and undefeated Dallas held the lead over Columbus, the Aviators desperately needed a spark. Jalan McClendon decided to give Keke Chism a chance in single coverage, and it produced the top play of the season.

The ball dragged Chism toward the pylon, where he somehow made a twisting, juggling catch while keeping both feet in bounds.

The walking highlight reel helped Columbus secure the first win in franchise history, and that touchdown will forever be remembered alongside it.

Whether it was game-winning defensive heroics, breakaway touchdowns, or catches that seemed to defy physics, the 2026 UFL season delivered no shortage of unforgettable highlights.
