ARLINGTON, TX – September 21, 2026 – As Week 2 of the NFL season comes to a close, multiple former UFL stars delivered standout performances, continuing to highlight the strength of the UFL-to-NFL pipeline. Former Arlington Renegades defensive tackle Jalen Redmond was a difference-maker for the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
In a rainy, sloppy, touchdown-less game in Chicago, Redmond made arguably the biggest play of the afternoon. In the third quarter, Bears running back D’Andre Swift attempted to punch it in from one yard out. Redmond slipped inside and punched the football loose before Swift could cross the goal line, giving Minnesota possession and keeping Chicago off the scoreboard.

The Vikings held on for a 9-3 victory, with Redmond’s touchdown-saving forced fumble proving to be a pivotal moment. He finished the afternoon with four total tackles, including two solo stops.
Down in Dallas, former Birmingham Stallion Brandon Aubrey continued to do Brandon Aubrey things. Aubrey was a perfect 3-for-3 on field goals in the Cowboys’ first victory of the season, including his first 60-yard field goal of the year. The kick looked as though it had plenty of room to spare, leading to plenty of social media speculation about whether Aubrey could eventually attempt a 70-yarder.

Aubrey finished with 13 total points, and Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer did not rule out the possibility of letting his kicker take a shot from 70 yards this season.
Also in Dallas, former Philadelphia Stars standout KaVontae Turpin is off to a promising start in his quest for a third consecutive season leading the NFL in kickoff return yards. Turpin returned four kicks for 122 yards, averaging 30.5 yards per return. He now leads the NFL with 244 kickoff return yards through two games, while Schottenheimer has indicated he hopes to find even more ways to involve Turpin in the Cowboys’ offense.

Sophomore NFL kicker and former St. Louis BattleHawk Andre Szmyt also had a strong outing in the Cleveland Browns’ upset victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Szmyt was a perfect 3-for-3 on field goals, including a 50-yarder, and accounted for 11 total points as Cleveland improved to 1-1 entering Week 3.
Despite another loss for the Atlanta Falcons, former St. Louis BattleHawk defensive tackle LeCale London turned in another solid performance. London recorded four tackles, including two solo stops, and continues to make his presence felt along Atlanta’s defensive front.
The Week 2 action concludes Monday night, when former Birmingham Stallion Harrison Mevis, better known as “The Thiccer Kicker,” takes the stage on ESPN. Mevis did not attempt a field goal in Week 1 and will look to make his mark as the Los Angeles Rams search for their first victory of the season against the New York Giants.
From game-changing defensive plays to 60-yard bombs, Week 2 once again showed the impact former UFL stars are making at the NFL level.
